Sixty percent of provisional ballots accepted during Johnson County election canvass
Final JoCo canvass to be Monday at 4 PM
The Johnson County Board of Canvassers met Friday morning at the Johnson County Election Office to consider 9653 provisional ballots from the November 2024 general election.
Election Commissioner Fred Sherman told the board JoCo turnout was about 71.4% based on the results from the Nov. 8 update.
Sherman broke the provisional ballots into three categories for consideration by the Canvassers:
5823 to be counted (60.3%)
833 to be partially counted (8.6%)
2997 to be rejected (31.1%)
The Board of Canvassers, made up of the Board of County Commissioners (with Beau Boisvert a proxy for Commissioner Charlotte O’Hara), voted 7 “yes” and 0 “no” on all three matters.
Here’s the breakdown of the three categories:
Provisional Ballots
To be counted
To be partially counted
To be rejected
Final Canvass
The Election Office will act on the three votes by the canvassing board, which will meet again at 4 PM on Monday for the final canvas.

Nearly a third of provisional ballots rejected during Sedgwick Co. election canvass, KWCH, Nov. 14, 2024.
Very helpful to see these vote dispensations and the county commissioners’ votes. Not available elsewhere.
Thank you!
